The Japanese Section has been spearheading in EE at various levels and in various types of activities.

The following opportunities are available for study-related activities.  .
The Section has developed work opportunities for advanced learners and those who minor in Japanese Studies.

The JET [Japan Exchange and Teaching] Program, which is sponsored by the Japanese Government, gives opportunities to work in Japan as either an Assistant Language Teacher [ALT] or a Coordinator for International Relations [CIR]. Many York graduates have been selected for both categories. Consult with the Consulate General of Japan in Toronto for further information.

Advanced students who are bilingual in English and Japanese may be recommended for translation and interpretation work.
Many graduates have been working in Japan, Canada and other countries in Japan-related areas.
